Mr. Kline has been the head varsity girls' volleyball coach since 2018. Overall, he has been coaching volleyball for since 2006. Prior to coaching at PM East, he coached Nativity B.V.M. girls for four years, North Pocono High School boys for one year, Penn State Scranton girls for five years, and PM West Boys' HS team for two years. When coaching at Nativity, he led the girls team to be runners-up in the Schuylkill League District 11 and finished fifth in Class A in the state. When at North Pocono, the team was a district qualifier. As head coach at Penn State Scranton, he coached his team to the best record in school history for the sport.

Team Accomplishments:

2024-2025:

Season Record: 11-9. Finished 4th in the EPC.

Qualified for the District XI 4A Tournament.

EPC All Conference Monroe Division 1st Team - Leila Noboa and Alexys Fulkerson

2023-2024:

Season Record: 9-10. Finished 3rd in the EPC North Division. Finished 10th in the EPC.

2022-2023:

Season Record: 17-6. Finished 3rd in DXI 3A. Finished 2nd in the EPC.

Qualified for the semi-final round of the DXI 3A Girls Volleyball tournament.

Won the Pottsville Classic Volleyball Tournament for the first time.
 
District Playoff game: Beat Blue Mountain for our first ever home district win.
 
District 3A All-Stars: Sasha Dudley (1st Team); Monica Rizzolo (Honorable Mention); Sofia Zablackis (Honorable Mention)
 
Sofia made a verbal commitment to continue playing volleyball in college.

2021-2022:

Season Record: 13-7 / EPC 10-6. Finished 7th in DXI 4A. Finished 1st in the EPC.

District 11 All Star Honorable Mention: Sofia Zablackis

2020-2021:

 Season Record: 5-6. *Shortened season due to Covid.

District XI Qualifier 5-5 record. 

Christine Marin (Libero) 1st team Honorable Mention, 1st team all EPC.

Program Expectations/Coaching Philosophy:

My philosophy of coaching incorporates my strong work ethic. I believe that it is essential that I foster the growth of players through numerous opportunities that I am fortunate to be able to provide.  I instruct the players in a realistic manner by using game situations which makes the transition to real games flawlessly.   My experience guides my athletes while they develop their skill levels in a structured learning environment that constantly challenges them.  I provide encouragement and support as they develop and improve their playing strategies and skills. I instill the tone of hard work and commitment to improving as an individual player and as a team, which will lead to both personal growth as well as success as a team.  I guide a group of individuals to communicate, to be dedicated, to be responsible and to hold themselves accountable.  I expect my athletes to nurture their dreams and be the best both on and off the court.

Upcoming Season Goals:

My season goals are to have each returning player improve, have each new member of the team show progress each day, win the EPC North Division championship and make the EPC and District XI playoffs.
